21.48 Samuel Eto'o has been left out of Inter Milan's squad to face Olympiakos Piraeus in their final pre-season friendly on Sunday amid media speculation a move to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala could be completed early next week.

21.00 DONE DEAL Liverpool striker Nabil El Zhar has completed a switch to Spanish side Levante on a two-year deal.


He told skysports.com: "Liverpool was a good experience for me but I never had a chance to show what I am capable of. If I had been given a chance, I could have shown my qualities but this is the life of a footballer. I am happy because Liverpool is a great club, I have a massive respect for the club and I was happy to be part of it. But I am a Levante player now, I'm 25-years-old and it's time for me to show what I am capable of. I am looking forward to the Spanish season as I believe the style there will suit my type of football."


20.02 Cameroon media say that Samuel Eto'o has signed a three-year deal with Anzhi... we'll wait for the official announcement first.


19.43 Alan Pardew has work to do and wants to persuade Mike Ashley to bring in some new players quickly. He said after the win over Sunderland: "A victory like this helps me with [managing director] Derek [Llambias] and Mike to go upstairs and say, 'Come on, let's try to get them in this week'. We want to get the right players and we want to get the best value we can, and we are trying to do that.''


18.45 Cologne defender Youssef Mohamad has said he has signed a two-year contract with Dubai side Al-Ahli so he can be closer to his family. "I have signed, I wanted to be near my family," the Lebanese international was quoted as saying by Bild.
